Saturday Skill Day

This is the practicum for teaching boys — different from Sunday formation where boys really can't get dirty and sweaty — skills and increasing their strength.

Examples abound:

  • Can you tell the difference between poison ivy and Virginia creeper?
  • Tie a Trucker's Hitch
  • Build a catapult
  • How to do a fireman's carry
  • Know the principles of firearm safety
  • Find your way with a compass
  • Carpentry

Fathers volunteer at the beginning of the year to teach the particular Saturday's module and have time to prepare both activities and explanations accessible to the variety of ages.
